I am a Hungarian-born artist living in New York City. I moved to the United States at the age of 14, and hold a BFA from the University of Akron. After eight years as a designer, I left a successful career behind in 2026 to paint and draw full time.
I’m a self-taught abstract painter. I began my practice with just a pen and paper and over time expanded into acrylic paintings, usually working large, around 24 by 36 inches. I completed an abstract painting intensive at the Art Students League in 2026.
I start from color combinations that feel charged before I know what they mean. I build the surface in thick impasto, sometimes with baking soda, sand, or textured paper worked into the paint. A canvas stays with me for weeks or months. I rework it and sometimes bury a whole earlier direction under a new layer. The feeling arrives through the paint rather than being set in advance, as I try to find memories and emotions I have no words for. My drawings are more meditative. I make them pen on paper in a single pass, letting my hand move while my mind goes quiet. It is in the tension between these two opposites that I find my artistic voice.
I have buried whole paintings under new layers and then dug some of them back out. The works on this page are the ones that stayed. They survived being reworked, set aside for months, and started over. Some of them began as travel studies made with whatever I had on the road. Others are large canvases I lived with for months.
What holds them together is not a style or a year. It is that I kept coming back to them until they felt true.

Story and Process~
I was born in Hungary and moved to the United States at fourteen, when a summer vacation became permanent. I spent my first year here in isolation, away from family and friends, without the language, and unable to attend school because of visa complications. It was in that immense cloud of boredom that I filled up my first sketchbook. I spent years assimilating, then years working as a designer, making work for other people's brands. Art never left. I drew when all I had was pen and paper and I was constantly on the move. When I finally left full-time design to paint, I was running toward being an artist while going back to uncertainty. My life has been split into pieces, first by a move that was forced on me, and later by choices I deliberately made. I paint to dig for the source of pain and trauma, and to understand the fear of loss and abandonment that has followed me since childhood.
